Welcome to the Viewcrest Village Community Garden!
This is a wonderful opportunity for families to come together as a community to learn about growing, maintaining, and harvesting vegetables and herbs. This is where Children and their families can learn how to plant, care for, grow and enjoy their own vegetables.
The Management of Viewcrest Village has designated an area for a community garden, which will be managed by the residents who participate. Each individual can choose what they would like to grow, get their children involved, and collaborate with other residents in the Community Garden. We will provide updates on the progress of our gardeners.
Additionally, there will be a sign-up for residents who are unable to actively participate in gardening. Through our community outreach program, these residents can receive healthy food to bring to their tables.
You will find the layout of the garden plot, which includes four raised beds that are each 10 feet by 4 feet, as well as fifteen square beds, each measuring 4 feet by 4 feet. There will be a 4-foot by 4-foot compost bin available, and composting guidelines will be provided.
The area will be fenced and maintained by the residents who participate in the gardening project.
A small one time fee of $5.00 will be charged to cover the cost of seeds and soil.
We will have access to an outdoor water faucet. Additionally, a shared tool shed will be available for tenants to use. Please see the project coordinator for the keys.
